Settlement studies
During a five-day site visit in Dungarpur, local living patterns were studied to understand how houses and farms are self-built using limited resources. Settlements respond to sloping terrain through terraces and flat surfaces that support housing and agriculture. The entire site was measured and plotted at a scale of 1:200, using a 1.5-metre height reference and 16 steps equalling one metre to understand level changes and mark transitions between houses and farms. Wheat fields and seasonal vegetables support daily needs, while cows, bulls, and goats remain part of domestic spaces.
